White Buffalo Turquoise Sterling Silver Ring

  • $250.00

This sterling silver ring features genuine, rare, White Buffalo Turquoise from the Dry Creek Mine in Nevada. The Dry Creek Mine is the only mine allowed to trade with the name White Buffalo. I bezel set this large cabochon and framed it with silver rope. It has a split shank to support the large stone, and a closed back which helps protect the turquoise, and adds substantial silver weight. The silver is finished with an antique style patina. The setting measures 1 ½”, and the ring is size 5 ¼.

White Turquoise has become one of the hottest semi-precious stones in jewelry within the last 5 years and is now seen on runways around the world. The stone was originally discovered in 1993 in Nevada, at the very end of the Dry Creek Turquoise Mine on the Shoshone Indian Reservation. White turquoise lacks the presence of any of the metals that give turquoise its colors…copper for blue, and iron for green, and morphs itself into Dolomite or Aragonite, both of which are found in various locations around the world. The White Turquoise stone from the Dry Creek Mine is the only one traded under the name White Buffalo Turquoise. Among my listings I have several pieces created with White Turquoise cabochons from Africa. This ring however, is genuine White Buffalo Turquoise.
