Coquette Sterling Silver Antique Porcelain Cameo Pendant

This sterling silver cameo pendant is one of the first pieces from my Coquette aesthetic collection. It features a large antique, hand painted porcelain cameo from the 1930s, that has been bezel set with a scalloped edge, and framed with sterling granulation. I added a small leaf on one side just because, and it is finished with an antique style patina that really makes the cameo pop.  It has a closed back which helps protect the porcelain and also adds substantial silver weight to the piece.  It measures almost 2” not including the bail. This pendant comes with a 16” sterling silver chain, however the bail is large enough to accommodate thicker chains if you want to swap this one out.

The Coquette Aesthetic

One of the newest fashion trends hitting international runways lately is “Coquette”. Like the meaning of this French word, the aesthetic is everything feminine, flirty, and romantic, with a touch of vintage and Victorian. Think florals, lace, ruffles and corsets combined with luxury and high-end quality. I fell in love with the runway clothing, but realized no one is creating beautiful jewelry to go with it. After searching “Coquette jewelry”, I could only find a few cheap beaded necklaces, lots of heart pendants, and not much else. I knew I could create quality sterling silver jewelry to compliment the clothing perfectly. I use genuine antique china and vintage porcelain cameos from my personal collection, all of which date from the 1800s to the 1940s.
